The Hunt Club/Riverside Community Services Centre, Ottawa’s 14th Community Health and Resource Centre, is a charitable organization providing health promotion, community development and social services programs and workshops. Our services are directed by the communities that we serve.
To complement an active Board of Directors and dynamic staff and volunteers, the Executive Director will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Centre and leading the agency through a period of transition. Reporting to the Chair of the Board, he/she is responsible for executing organizational development strategies, implementing the Board’s strategic plan and policies; including planning, organizing, coordinating and managing the Centre’s programs and services within the approved budget and timelines.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Social Work, counselling or behavioural science from a recognized university or the equivalent combination of a Master’s degree in social sciences or a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and relevant work experience. The incumbent must have three to five years of management experience with a track record of superior performance, exceptional judgment and communication skills. He/she is a flexible and proven leader and a team player.
Strong management skills in finance and human resources and experience maintaining positive relationships in a diverse community while working with a board of directors are necessary. Proficiency working in a computerized environment and possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is mandatory. A second language is considered an asset.
Proficiency in program development, delivery and evaluation is required. Proposal writing skills and the ability to creatively strategize and negotiate with funding sources is a necessity.
